This boho inspired shoot in the forest by Rachel Barkman is so enchanting! The beautiful mossy undergrowth is such a tactile foundation to base an entire shoot on. Not only did Rachel photograph it, this clever lady came up with the concept and styled it all as well right down to making that amazing teepee!! Which I think I need to have in my garden!! Add to that some beautiful florals by Floral Designs by Lili and you have some perfect boho ideas to use for your wedding inspiration!

From Rachel, A lace teepee, wildflowers, moss, and everything gold and vintage were the inspiration for this styled woodland wedding. We thrifted almost everything used in this shoot from local shops and stores. I've always loved the Pacific Northwest. The forests and ocean here are unlike anything I have ever seen. I was hiking one day with my husband when I felt immediately inspired to shoot a styled wedding amongst the trees, wildflowers, ferns, and moss. I never once imagined that the results would be as utterly stunning and dreamy as the images from this session.

When I asked Sam and Craig to model for me in a styled shoot, I sat down with Sam to discuss their personal style and how we could incorporate their look into the session. Sam has always been a carefree, bohemian kind of girl, and we instantly gravitated towards that look. Craig and Sam just bought and renovated their very first home- an original 1900s farmhouse that just oozes charm. A hammock and vintage couch grace their dreamy wraparound porch, and I felt inspired to incorporate that look into their session. We brought in a lot of items that Sam and I both already owned, and we scavenged thrift stores for the rest. The result was an eclectic, woodlands bohemian session set in the mossiest forest that the Pacific Northwest possesses.

One of the best aspects of this shoot was the amazing lace teepee that I constructed just for this day! I thrifted tons and tons of lace- tablecloths, runners, whatever I could find! My husband helped me purchase the 8 foot long wooden poles. I simply fashioned them together with industrial strength rubber bands and began attaching lace EVERYWHERE! I am a girl who believes you can never have too much lace, and this teepee is no exception. To help the entire teepee seem seamless, we added wildflowers and vines around the top. I can see this making a home in a future nursery or playroom for us someday.

We started dreaming and planning and trying to schedule the perfect day to photograph our session- but British Columbia is known for its rain, and we constantly were rescheduling to try and accommodate the spring season in Vancouver. The florist required 5 days notice, so when we saw a possible sunny weekend, we committed to a date and hoped for the best. The day before the shoot was stormy and dark, and the next morning we woke up to birds and sunshine! The forest was aglow with a long-awaited sunny day and every aspect came together perfectly. Sam, Craig, and I giggled through most of the session, not believing how dreamy and perfect everything was.

The morning of, as I was packing for our shoot, my eye was caught by a print I have hanging on my wall by Katie Daisy. It is a quote from Lord Alfred Tennyson that says: If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever. I instantly realized that these words evoked everything I wanted to represent in this session, and brought it along.
