Landscape inspired Maui Elopement inspiration

Hawaii Wedding Inspiration

By Magnolia Rouge

With its incredibly diverse range of scenery this shoot on Maui by TAKEN BY SARAH PHOTOGRAPHY takes advantage of two of the main offerings this island has; a volcanic mountain and a volcanic rock beach. They both tend to have an other worldly look about them. With Hawaii being a hotspot for elopements SARAH and the local creative team aimed to inspire brides to look outside of the typical resort style weddings, and take advantage of the raw and powerful beautiful Hawaii has to offer. I love that it is a different approach to an island wedding!

Sarah shares with us, "The Hawaiian island possess an intoxicating and unforgettable essence. They dig deep into your soul and hold on tight, never forgotten and always longed for. Cameo and Kamakea are both of Hawaiian descent and were born on the islands. They embody the Aloha spirit beautifully, and being around them is a breath of fresh air and a joyful experience. The locations we visited on this shoot represent a tiny snippet of the incredible diversity of scenery found on the island of Maui, starting with the volcano Haleakala and ending at La Perouse Bay where the landscape looks like a different planet and the ocean continually carves it's way inland on beautiful wave at a time. Capturing the spirit of Hawaii in photographs is something one could try to do their entire lives. I hope this shoot gives you just a little glimpse into why Hawaii has stolen my heart so completely, and why so many people go there to heal and to connect deeply with nature in all it's raw beauty.

"Aloha is being a part of all, and all being a part of me. When there is pain - it is my pain. When there is joy - it is also mine. I respect all that is as part of the Creator and part of me. I will not willfully harm anyone or anything. When food is needed I will take only only my need and explain why it is being taken. The earth, the sky, the sea are mine to care for, to cherish and to protect. This is Hawaiian - this is Aloha!" - huna.org
