Our gorgeous bride today is one of the very talented gals behind BLUE & IVORY - a German based wedding styling company. Despite being in the industry and having a lot of very talented vendors at her fingertips, Kristina and her now husband Andreas chose to have a simple celebration on their own terms. Just a few days ago in fact they held their wedding ceremony, but prior to this as is requirement in Germany, they held an intimate civil ceremony in the small Bavarian town of Bamberg. GRACE & BLUSH were there to capture the special day.
Kristina tells us, "We were lucky to have found each other early on in our lives. We have travelled the world together and made plans to leave our home for a long journey to just live our dream and enjoy time with each other. 2015 was the year when we were finally able to make it happen. And right at the beginning of our journey, in Maui on top of a volcano called Haleakala, we got engaged. This place is surreal and the moments we shared up there, literally in the midst of clouds, are so special and unforgettable.
One of our best trips ever has been the one to Italy in 2013 and we knew, even before one of us gave voice to it, that we both really wanted to get married in this beautiful country. Our wedding will take place on the 17th of September in the lovely Locanda Rosa Rosae near Treviso, an ancient mill that has been tastefully restored and reopened as a boutique hotel in 2008. With only 40 guests we decided to keep it very intimate and family style. However, since it is necessary to have also a civil wedding in Germany for our marriage to be legally registered, we decided to make use of this obligation and turn it into something special, an event with a really deep meaning to us. We chose the 2nd of June to be the date for our Civil Ceremony, which is the date of our 10 years anniversary as a couple, thus it will always remind us on this big milestone in our relationship. The venue we picked to celebrate is a lovely Italian restaurant with a gorgeous winter garden and view over the alleyways and old town of Bamberg, a little German town, that is also known as the 'Little Venice from Bavaria'.
We wanted to keep things very simple, organic and allow the beauty of the location to speak for itself. Accents of white and organic florals (some of the blooms were directly from the garden, especially my beloved Dogwood) created an elegant touch to the table setting. We celebrated with a sumptuous meal and es meal and enjoyed the togetherness of our families until late night.
Marriage hasn't changed our relationship. It purely symbolises everything we've felt for each other ever since that day we met."
