Coralee Stone knocked it out of the park with this beautiful Waiheke Island Wedding. Currently living in Spain, Katy & James returned back to their hometown of Auckland to get married at Mudbrick Vineyard this summer just gone. I love the simple silhouette of the bride's Raimon Bundo gown and especially that it had pockets! Be sure to scroll to the bottom to watch a beautiful film that Ben Journee from Side Project captured of the day.

Tell us about your proposal: James and I were home in Auckland for our annual vacation from work, which we usually spend traveling around or just relaxing at home. However this particular time we had three weddings to attend in four weeks, so spent nearly everyday rushing around trying to catch up with friends and family. It wasn't until our last day that James got his chance (or almost didn't). We spent the day rushing round the city (again!), while James tried his hardest to entice me into a beautiful spot to ask the big question. A picnic in the park, an ice-cream on the beach; all of which I responded to with, 'we can't, we have to much to do'. Eventually we took a walk to the local reserve which overlooks the neighbourhood and water, and while we watched the sunset he finally got his chance.

Tell us about finding your wedding dress: Because of work we are constantly traveling, so it makes ordering a wedding dress and having fittings a little tricky. However they always say 'every cloud has a silver lining' and the the up side to this was that I was lucky enough to try on dresses in a few different cities. The dresses I tried in Honolulu and San Francisco were special, but it was a dress I found in my home town in Spain by designer Raimon Bundo that stole my heart. I remember trying it on and falling in love with the fabric, the classic style and the fact that it had pockets! I remember there were tears and the overwhelming feeling of knowing it was the one. I bought it that day as I was flying out two days later to go back to work, and it traveled with me in a small tote bag for the next six months.

Describe your wedding flowers: Green! In colour and in terms of being eco-friendly. It was important to me not to waste to much money on flowers that would only last one day. I love everything about succulents and airplants and knew that they would feature throughout the wedding decoration. They were dotted around all over the place, from the bouquets, to the cake and seating chart, while the centerpieces were made-up almost solely of different succulent varieties. Each centerpiece was made up by James's mother, with the plants mostly being sourced from her own garden. What I'm looking forward to most now is re-planting them in my own garden and having them forever reminding us of our wedding day.

What advise would you give out to a couple planning their wedding? To just have fun and work together. Understand that you will want different things from your day and you will need to work as a team to make your ideas come together. There will be moments during the planning and perhaps on the day that wont go to plan. The best piece of advice I was given was that only you as the bride (and maybe the groom) will know when something hasn't worked out as you wanted. Don't let these small hiccups define your day.
