We are Emily and Zach of Alp and Isle, based in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. With the quality of medium format film, we translate your day with a focus on natural interactions and emotion. We are blessed to have the stunning landscapes of Telluride, Vail, Aspen, Beaver Creek, Estes Park, and Denver as backdrops for our weddings here in Colorado. Well traveled, we also serve destination; having photographed from the beaches of Hawaii, to the hills of Napa and the Catskill Mountains of New York. Whether local or destination, we absolutely love what we do and look forward to getting to know you!

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT... brunching! Oh, how we love brunch. Then after brunch, we head out for a hike or go out on the boat. In the winter, it would be waking up in Summit County, drinking some coffee on our way to the ski lifts. Shredding up the slopes with our little one, and stopping to bask in the sun over a late lunch on the mountain. Ending the day with champagne, swiss raclette and a hot tub under the stars.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS... this is hard to answer with just one! We often talk about how special our trip to Whistler, British Columbia for the 2010 Winter Olympics was. As winter sport lovers and avid snowboarders, Whistler was number one on our bucket list, and when they announced that the Olympics would be held there and in Vancouver we knew we had to go! We had a great group of college buddies and friends join us. Whistler was majestic in its own right but the Olympics are truly something magical to behold. The air is alive with excitement and dreams. British Columbia and the Sea-to-Sky Highway is such beautiful, inspiring countryside.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS... Sweden.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS... meeting new people and seeing new places. Narrating our client's stories. The ability for our passion and artistry to support our family. And the freedom that comes with that expression.

IF I DIDN'T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD DO... well, we have managed to be able to balance a few with our photography over the years. Emily - Interior Design which she studied in college, and Zach - a pilot & Leadership Development Professor.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE... keep what's important to you, and drop all the rest. Focus on a couple of important elements or themes and build your wedding day around that. Let every other thing have a purpose to support those elements. Simplifying your planning like that will let you focus on enjoying your engagement and your wedding day.

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE... we love the outdoors and friendly people. We grew up adventuring in these mountains and valleys and this land has deeply become part of who we are. We spent several years living all over the continent, but we always came back home to Colorado. The people and the places where we feel whole.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE... here in Colorado! But if we were to summer somewhere else, perhaps the south of France.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? We are terrible at having just one. We loved the Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I love My Fair Lady & When Harry Met Sally, Zach is sticking with The Power of One.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I'VE EVER EATEN WAS... we were hosting a farewell dinner for our dearest friends. We took the boat out to our favourite island and spent the day playing together. As sunset neared, we all sat down to a shanty table we had decorated and poured out a pot of Low Country Boil. Steaming hot crab, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn cobs seeped into the paper tablecloth and we all sat on the ground, joined around the table one last time, toasting to the future and reminiscing over the past.

THE PETS I OWN ARE... we had a most precious Golden Retriever. Duke was Zach's gift to me on our first Christmas, married and alone in a new state. He joined us on all our travels and grand adventures and we loved him dearly, but he passed away recently at age 9. We have grieved for almost two years, but we are finally ready to welcome another dog to our family! We are adopting a Bernese Mountain Dog this year.
