Amber & Mike held a beautiful celebration at BRISTOW MANOR after falling in love with its stunning 1800’s southern style Manor House. Set in the picturesque rolling countryside of Bristow, Virginia It created the perfect backdrop for their day offering a serene and elegant atmosphere with seasonal flowers and natural foliage surrounding it. Captured by JENNIFER NOLAN PHOTOGRAPHY, the worked with CAITLIN ANGELI at the venue to help them pull their ideas together.
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met through a dating app. We both walked away from our first date telling our friends we found our person. It just felt right.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Michael proposed to me on our two-year anniversary in Saint Michaels. He had a secret photographer to capture the special moment. I remember walking out of the doors if the Tidewater House (where we were staying) and he paused at the steps. I had lipstick on my tooth, so he helped fix that before going into the romantic proposal. We still laugh about it to this day, but it was so us. After he said the kindest words and I said ‘yes’, we had a few more portraits taken and then spent the evening celebrating together.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS/ATTIRE: My mom, soon to be mother-in-law, and best friend went to BRIDALS BY ELENA in Gabrills, Md. My dress was the fourth one I had tried on. It turns out it was the one I had favorited awhile back and shared with my friends that it was my ‘dream dress’. It was meant to be!
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY ELEMENTS? We did a DIY greenery wall for a photo booth. It was an absolute hit.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: RICKS FLOWERS in Sterling, VA helped bring my vision to life. I envisioned a lot of greenery and the light pink, romantic touch of roses.
FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: I am not sure I can pick. I think everything came together so nicely and I am beyond grateful to all the vendors who helped make it happen.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? Our vows were my favourite moment from that day. We wrote our own vows to each other, and they were a perfect mix of the humour and love we share.
