Brenda is a Seattle native and Gerardo lives and works in San Diego. After a year of long distance, Brenda made the decision to move to San Diego so they could live together. Before her move, she reached out to Seattle wedding photographer AARON LIU PHOTOGRAPHY to book an engagement session in Seattle to capture and memorialise their time there before moving to California. Aaron tells us, "As Seattle’s weather would have it, we experienced several rainy days and had to postpone the session. At the end of April, Brenda and Gerardo flew back to Seattle from San Diego specially for this session!
Brenda and Gerardo both love nature and being surrounded by elements like lush forests, green grass, ocean breeze, and blue skies. Choosing Discovery Park as their location was a no-brainer because of the wide variety of scenery throughout the 534 acre park. From historical buildings, to open grassy fields, and trails overlooking the water, I was able to try many new angles and compositions for a fresh look in a location I have shot at a few times before. We were very lucky to have perfect weather on the day of the session, and the couple was very relaxed – which made my job easy as their photographer to capture their joy and excitement for the next phase of their lives together!"
