RIVERDALE FARM is home to a flower farm on a 100 acre property located on the south coast of Western Australia on the banks of the Kalgan River near Albany. In collaboration with Jane McGlynn of WILDWOOD FLORAL and Steph Wall of WALLFLOWER STUDIO together with Helen and Abbey Leighton of RIVERDALE FARM the Garden Gathered Workshop Autumn Edition 2018 was held in late April. The gardens were overflowing with a bounty of varied and interesting floral material. The workshop welcomed 10 floral enthusiasts to Riverdale Farm for a day of using 100% farm grown blooms.

The ladies tell us, "Autumn signals the season change resulting in an abundance of the most beautiful blooms and foliages in rich tones. Each guest was swept up in the visual feast of buckets overflowing with lush, farm fresh blooms, textural berries, colourful leafy material and architectural seed pods. The day was designed around a theme of sustainability using inspiring seasonal floral material entirely from the farm and focussed on foam free floral design for weddings and events.

The workshop was all about creating wildly romantic floral designs. Abbey led a centrepiece demonstration to begin the day followed by Jane running guests through the design of bridal bouquets finished with plant dyed silk ribbons by Helen. After enjoying a delicious grazing style lunch, Steph demonstrated foam free design for an arbour in the vineyard using beautiful autumnal material with Abbey completing the table styling with an abundance of flowers and fruits. The day finished with a photo shoot using the background of the recently harvested pinot vines in all their beautiful russet tones."
