It's really not hard to see why Kiki and Nicky chose to get married at PALMETTO BLUFF, a quintessential southern plantation in South Carolina's Lowcountry. With it's beautiful vistas across the water it provided Charleston wedding photographer CLAY AUSTIN absolutely magical scenes to capture. Going with a classic and chic aesthetic the result was utterly timeless, not to mention gorgeous!

For Clay, "This was definitely a stand out from last winter for me! These two lovebirds brought the heat from Miami making a day close to Christmas feel like summer! No detail was overlooked; from her insanely gorgeous NAEEM KHAN dress to the artisan s'more cart this love fest was chock full of beautiful elements!"

HOW DID YOU MEET? We met at Ocean Reef club in 2006 over labor day weekend.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: We decided to go to Ocean Reef Club for a long weekend and we were about to head out to dinner before he decided that he wanted to “take a walk the beach.” Although it may sound charming, it was actually raining. As per my usual self, I resisted because I didn’t want my hair to get wet and after a few steps - he dropped down on one knee and popped the question in the exact spot where we first met in 2006.

TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: So I went to Ever After in Coconut Grove, FL in search of a ballgown. Turns out, when I put the ball gowns on- I just didn’t feel like myself. I went back a week later and popped in on their instagram feed in search of a something different and BAM. I saw it. I knew before I even tried it on that it was the one. When I arrived at my appointment, I knew that I did not need to re-try any other type of dress because this was the one. It was elegant with a little bit of sass.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: So I wanted to incorporate lots of greenery in my bouquet as well as at the reception. My wedding planner, Kelli Corn, took that direction and executed it in the most perfect way possible.

FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: My favourite detail of the day was the natural, pink sunset lighting that made the setting of my wedding look unreal. Almost like a Fairytale.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Don’t stress the small stuff. Things will naturally go wrong and the only people who will notice will be you. Everyone is there to celebrate you as a couple and to have a great time.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? Singing backstreet boys on a microphone while being tossed in the air. That was pretty epic.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: We honeymooned in Hawaii and to say it is the most spectacular place on earth is an understatement. We stayed at the best resorts and went on so many adventures together, like waterfall rappelling, zip-lining and hiking. Also, the people are incredibly nice and so lovely- I definitely recommend it to any adventurer at heart.

A huge thank-you to Charleston wedding photographer CLAY AUSTIN for sharing this beautiful South Carolina wedding with us today. Clay is a firm believer in true love, and documents it in its most raw and authentic form as these images attest to. "Shooting film allows me to be completely in the moment, patiently waiting for windows of honesty and those sparks that make each couple unique. It gives me overwhelming joy to provide my clients a way to relive such a meaningful occasion for the rest of their lives!
