This 'desert queen' inspired shoot by Southern California Wedding Photographers MCCUNE PHOTOGRAPHY took place in the iconic Joshua Tree National Park. Encompassing the grandeur of the park, it combines femininity and romance with a slightly moody edge. The aim was for something 'fanicful' but attainable for most brides. Absolutely stunning florals by LAVENDER'S FLOWERS provide a beautiful contrast to the neutral landscape.
Gloria of MCCUNE PHOTOGRAPHY tells us, "Inspiration comes in many forms, for us, it all starts with the location. Joshua Tree is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Southern California. With so much beauty and mystery, it captivates you the moment you enter. There is a peace and tranquility about it as well as its larger than life scenery. Simply put, it takes your breath away. With miles upon miles of endless desert and rich colours, it is easy to see why one could fall in love with the location. Deserts are graceful when you listen to the whispers of the wind or on rainy days, but also one should never underestimate its strength from it's surrounding elements.
We choose FLORA BRIDE for our gown, as it has some of the most beautiful gowns and it takes on a life of its own. It has such rich texture and detail while remaining simple and elegant; which reminded of what Joshua Tree represented to us. One of our favourite details was the floral bouquet, designed by Janelle from LAVENDER'S FLOWERS. Janelle has such an incredible eye for floral design and created an avant-garde bouquet. It was chic and cohesive as it stayed true to style for the location. KAT PARK, who is one of the most talented hair & makeup artists created a very romantic and soft look. It was important to keep it simple but also capture the beauty without competing with the other details. STYLED BY TC is a favourite of ours, as they carry such etherial bridal accessories and of course, work with some of our favourite designers, TWIGS & HONEY and JENNIFER LEIGH COUTURE VEILS. PROJECT WATERMARK is a true artist, she is amazing at Calligraphy and invitation design. For this invitation suite, we kept the neutral palette mixed with watercolour and it was perfect."
