We literally couldn't love this Charleston wedding more! From the bride's stunning lace gown, to the enchanting outdoor reception area, and of course exquisite imagery by one of our all time favourites BRUMLEY & WELLS, it truly is a little slice of wedding perfection. For Omaha couple, Michelle and Jonathan, it was the timeless romance of Charleston that drew them to the city for their destination wedding. “Now we have the best connection to Charleston!” the bride exclaims. To make the most of the setting, they planned an elegant outdoor wedding at LEGARE WARING HOUSE with long tables decked with greenery and tall tapered brass candlesticks that the bride had painstakingly collected. They also managed to add many personal touches to their day, from the custom bourbon bar to the Guns ‘n Roses song played by a string trio at the ceremony. It had been a difficult year for their families, in which Michelle’s father sadly passed away, so every moment of happiness was even more poignant. “Jonathan and I lived through ‘for better or worse’ before ever saying our vows,” she says. “And when we did say those words to each other, I knew just how lucky I was to marry him!”

Planning by ELM EVENTS CHARLESTON and gorgeous florals by THE PURPLE MAGNOLIA ensured the guests were in for a visual treat as well as the couple themselves. “When Jonathan and I entered the reception, our guests were already seated and the sun had just set. I remember sitting down and realising I was in the most breathtaking moment I’ve ever been in. The weather was the most perfect you could ever ask for an al fresco dinner and we were facing everyone who came all the way to Charleston to be with us. A candlelit dinner with string lighting overhead was a very romantic way to spend the first few hours as a married couple. I heard laughter, drinks being poured and the giggles of our nieces dancing in front of our table with their flower girl dresses. I remember turning to my sister and saying, “this is just so pretty.” I honestly wasn’t expecting that moment to be so beautiful and having the feeling of being completely surrounded by love! I was there to marry my best friend and celebrate the first day of the rest of our lives together.
