Nordica Photography are the masters of combining jaw droppingly good landscapes when they document a wedding, and being that I'm a huge fan of travel and landscape photography, this is pure eye candy for me. It's like National Geographic meets Martha Stewart (I know I should say Magnolia Rouge but it didn't feel quite right!) and it stirs my wanderlust heart!
Talk about the Art of Happiness... When colleagues Zun and Mark, both practising Buddhists, agreed to attend a talk in Toronto by the Dalai Lama together, little did they realise it was the start of the love and happiness they would find in each other. Three years later, Mark proposed on top of a mountain in St. Lucia, and the couple began planning an intimate family affair that would honour their mixed Sri Lanka, Burmese, Canadian and Buddhist heritages in the peaceful paradise surroundings of Bali. It was a calm, intimate day of blessings and beauty, combining their traditions and beliefs, with the most breathtaking backdrop imaginable. And which bride wouldn't love to wear four incredible dresses!
"Once we had selected Ubud in Bali as the location, it was easy to come up with inspiration as there is such a distinct look and feel - open-air villas, green paddy fields, intricate details and wood carvings, bright colours. With such a naturally beautiful venue, we kept the d cor simple. The incredible villa staff made Balinese-style grass weavings, and we used white orchids and coconut flowers from the local market."

I wore several outfits to reflect our cultural backgrounds - Burmese Sri Lankan, Buddhist, Canadian - it was reflective of all the influences in my life. It was also a way for both our mothers to be involved in our wedding. Mark's mom selected a cream and red Sri Lankan saree and my mom chose the gold Burmese longyi hand beaded by a seamstress in Myanmar."
