With it's raw beauty and French farmhouse appeal, THE TIMBER AND STONE RETREAT in the picturesque country town of Malmsbury in Victoria, Australia was the ideal backdrop for this European inspired shoot. Looking like it's been plucked straight out of the Provence countryside, it allowed the creative team to create a simple shoot celebrating light, movement, the country side, incredible architectural elements and the prettiest of details. Lead by stylist MISS MOOI and captured by Melbourne wedding photographer QLIX PHOTOGRAPHY it proves that you really can bring a slice to Europe downunder with a little research and creativity.

Stacey from MISS MOOI explains more about the shoot: "Captured beautifully by Jae Cao of QLIX PHOTOGRAPHY, each element was chosen for its beauty and ability to stand on its own and not overshadow other elements when bought together. For the florals, the arrangements subtly echoed the start of autumn with russet tones and included foraged foliage from the garden and the FLOWERS IN A VASE'S own garden. Arnie's aim was to create wild and organic arrangements and they were simply stunning suiting the French Farm House theme perfectly. Beautiful hand died ribbon for the oversized bouquet was provided by the newly launched SONGBIRD SILK

The table scape was kept quite minimal and simple and focused on fresh produce, beautiful blooms, hand thrown milk washed ceramics by HK Living from FRANKIE SAY RELAX and linen napkins and brushed gold cutlery by EVENT ART. Both the rustic timber trestle table by PEPPERSPROUT HIRE and the French Bistro Chairs by MISS MOOI where in perfect for their simplicity. Layered upon that was the warm grey table runner by SILK & WILLOW, fresh produce of cheeses, fruits and nuts all harvested from the local area to celebrate the land and what it provides.

BLACKBIRD CAKES provided the simple two tier cake to sit upon the perfect rustic cake stand by My Sweet Event. Incredible slightly wild florals featured up the side of the cake to stunning effect. Our beautiful model was dressed by WHIMSICAL WHITE of Melbourne. They specialise in couture separates that are incredibly versatile and allow brides to choose pieces based on their own style and personality. We featured a delicate two piece gown that had the most softest of French tulle in the skirt that created such lovely movement. Paired with a delicately beaded sheer overlay on top, it echoed the pretty silvers of the ageing timbers of the property and was a perfect juxtaposition against the harshness of the Australian landscape.

The second gown was simply elegant with a relaxed but sophisticated feel with a fuller skirt for a more formal look. Paired with an amazing veil with a warm coffee overtone, the look was completed with a bespoke headpiece by the talented Christie Millinery. MAY VL MAKEUP completed the look with soft romantic hair and luminous skin with soft peaches and browns on her lips and eyes."

Oh my goodness this cake by BLACKBIRD CAKES and decorated by FLOWERS IN A VASE might just be one of the prettiest cakes we've ever seen!!
