This shoot might well be the very definition of pretty! The colours, the florals, the dreamy lace gown from SHOP GOSSAMER need I go on? This talented team lead by photographer ERIKA PARKER wanted to reflect the natural beauty of the South in springtime, as well as pay homage to some of its history. FONTAINEBLEAU STATE PARK used to be the location of the Fontainebleau plantation and sugar mill up until 1852. While the plantation isn't there any more, the ruins of the sugar mill still stand, and serve as a reminder of the rich and tumultuous history of this part of America. Get pinning ladies cause there are so many ideas to take away from this one!

Erika says, Everything we used was locally made, the pottery, the soap, even the furnishings are all salvaged pieces from historic properties. Sarah and Elijah are a couple who were married last year, almost exactly to the day of the photoshoot. They have such a dynamic energy together and were the perfect couple for this theme. In addition to sticking to our roots, we wanted to use colors and themes that we thought were under represented. I personally love lavender, and I wish I would see more brides using it as part of their color palate. The lavender blended so well with the minty green of the spanish moss, it really was a lovely combination.
