I love a natural relaxed engagement shoot set amongst stunning scenery, and GIANNY CAMPOS has really knocked it out of the park with this Malibu session with Shabnam & Joseph.
From the bride; "Joseph and I first met almost twelve years ago at University of California, Irvine as college freshmen. I was studying Biomedical Engineering and Joseph was studying Political Science. We were close friends for years before we started dating in our third year, but many of our friends knew we were meant for each other even before that. After college, I moved to Oregon for medical school and Joe moved to San Francisco to work in tech. Throughout the years we have always been there for each other, and never faltered in our commitment. Long distance in medical school, Joe was so supportive and would sit through Skype study sessions with me and plan trips so we could see each other between tests. We were ready to finally be in the same city when I started residency and were so excited when I matched at my top program in LA!
The days leading up to the wedding are always a little frantic. But our engagement shoot with Gianny and Julio was so perfectly timed. It was just two days before the wedding and we were so focused on the planning, that we hadn't had time to soak it all in. Doing this photo shoot with Gianny was absolutely amazing. She had come into town early to scope out locations for the session and we both fell in love with the big rocky coastline of El Matador Beach. Even though we were meeting for the first time, the shoot with Gianny and her husband, Julio, felt like we were on a double date with old friends. For those two hours, we got to relax and laugh and just enjoy each other. Gianny is so natural behind the camera. Her genuine, cool quality, made us feel completely at ease. My favourite photos are the ones she took without us even knowing, while we were just living in the moment. We both walked away from the session even more excited for our big day and thankful that we had chosen her to document our wedding."
