Another of the beautiful editorials in Issue 17 of MAGNOLIA ROUGE MAGAZINE was this stunning European inspired shoot by Virginia wedding photographers MICHAEL & CARINA PHOTOGRAPHY. Beautifully styled by Elizabeth of EAST MADE EVENT CO., it's a modern take on ancient Greco-Roman art and exudes a romance that speaks of everything we love about European history! The most beautiful paper goods from SIGNORA E MARE completely captivate us, as do the fresh modern florals by LA FLEUR DE JOUR and the gown by one of our favourites ALEXANDRA GRECCO is nothing short of stunning.

Michael & Carina tell us, "When we first met Elizabeth, we connected quickly based on a mutual love of travel and beautiful things, especially our shared adoration of art in the late Greco-Roman period. This style is typified in the ruins and mosaics of Antioch, an ancient Greco-Roman city located in modern Southeastern Turkey, which inspired the heart and feel of this shoot. We photographed in the Baltimore Museum of Art's special Antioch mosaic exhibit, where we also took inspiration from certain period and regional specific natural elements - olive branches, walnut ink calligraphy on torn edge paper, and tea stain (sort of a muddy blush) fabric and paper goods. The calligraphy on the old book cover by Signora e Mare added just the right mood of fantastic antiquity without dipping too deeply into blatant nostalgia. It's always a pleasure to experiment with other artists and follow the creativity and mood inspired by concepts as universal environment, history and a city that now exists only in the art it left behind."
