The mountains have always been a special place for Elle & Michael. With plenty of fond family memories, it represents happiness for them so it wasn't hard to make the decision to hold their wedding amongst the natural beauty of Vail, Colorado. This beautiful wedding from Laura Murray features in the current issue of Magnolia Rouge Magazine.

It was important to the couple to infuse their ceremony with personality. As well as having one of their best friends marry them which had guests both laughing and crying hysterically as she illustrated their journey together they wrote their own vows and didn't share them with each other until the day.

Acknowledging that weddings are at their heart the joining together of two families, they chose to have their siblings at their sides rather than a large bridal party. This meant they could all spend the day together which added to the overall intimacy of the festivities.

Remember what the day is truly about - the two of you committing to each other for a lifetime. There are a lot of little details that can distract and cause stress, but if you continually remind yourself of the true meaning, you will quickly quiet those stresses.

We wanted somewhat of a wild flower feel with elements of polish, so we had garden roses, leucadendron, dahlias, scabiosa pods, hanging amaranthus mixed with metallic gold/silver sprayed succulents. We wanted everything to have a loose, textured feel to it in order to match the natural setting of the mountains.
