The sand and the sea. The wind and the waves. There's something wildly romantic about starting a life together with the sound of crashing waves almost drowning out the sound of your vows, creating the most intimate of wedding circumstances. While a cold and misty day might not be what every bride dreams of, it adds to the overall moody yet calm tone of the day.

ASHLEY SLATER PHOTOGRAPHY together with Shelby from THE DAY'S DESIGN produced this stunningly gorgeous shoot inspired by nature and the rugged coastline. Full of driftwood and beach grass it was designed to appear as though the decor has simply washed ashore from a ship wreck. In contrast to the washed out palette, some bold and chic touches were added with black candles, ebony calligraphy, a classic black suit and glittering gold accents.

Shelby says This wasn't a day to fuss with curls in your hair or to bother putting on a tie. It was a wild, carefree and barefoot occasion. WILDFIELD PAPER'S invitation suite captured this essence impeccably with watercolor designs on natural paper which paired perfectly with the day's grey skies. The cake was understated and almost appeared sandy. And the flowers, while perfectly placed, seemed to be falling out of their vessels and pouring out of the bride's hands.
