We love an engagement shoot where the emotional connection between the couple are clear. EMMA GATES has done such an amazing job of capturing the connection between this gorgeous duo - these the kind of images you'll look back on in years to come so fondly. Emma tells us, "I have known Hannah (the bride-to-be) for many years now, and when she asked me if I would photograph her and Charles' wedding day this December in Iceland I was completely flattered. Their wedding was originally planned for December 2015 in the UK, but was postponed when Hannah's mum tragically passed away. They live and work in Lincolnshire, Hannah being a teacher and Charles in engineering. The Easter holidays meant two weeks off work for Hannah, so over the four-day weekend they came down to the South to visit her family. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to do an engagement session for the both of them. I text Hannah the week before and said, 'How do you both feel about Kimmeridge Bay for location for your e-shoot?'. Born and raised in the Jurassic Coast of Dorset, Hannah saw this as a beautiful backdrop for their photos and said yes! I checked the weather on my phone the evening before, and to my horror the forecast said cloud and rain from 2pm onwards! I quickly scrambled to my phone and messaged Hannah, 'Is it ok if we make it 8AM? I'm a huge sucker for golden hours to get that yummy glow in my photographs so to my complete relief they were both up for the early rise! I picked them up in my car the next morning, and the twenty minute drive through the countryside was a gorgeous one. We had a great time taking these photos together, despite the cold temperatures they both braved through it and we had a good laugh telling jokes throughout. There wasn't much need for me to direct Hannah and Charles, as their natural chemistry clearly plays a big part of love that shows in their portraits. I was so lucky to capture this beautiful, loving couple on such a wonderful Spring morning."
