Seeing this beautiful bridal shoot captured at Snoqualmie Falls by SMITH HOUSE WEDDINGS takes me on a little trip down memory lane. In the first couple of week of my almost 10 years travelling and living overseas, this was one of the first spots I landed in - I also happened to have an awful case of strep throat at the time (not so memorable!). It's such a stunning spot and perfect for some beautiful wedding portraits!
The team from SMITH HOUSE WEDDINGS tell us, "As soon as I knew we would be in Seattle, I knew I would do whatever was necessary to shoot at Snoqualmie Falls, about an hour outside of the city. This is not only the most beautiful waterfall I have ever laid eyes on, but when you pair it with overcast, Pacific Northwest weather, the surrounding pines, and rocks that I would love to build a home out of some day, it makes for perfection.
We knew we wanted to contrast the sharp rocks with soft florals so MIBELLAROSA set out to Seattle flower markets to find in-season and local picks to pair with the foraged greenery and accent pieces she found. Over-the-top bouquets are what MIBELLAROSA are most known for, and her Snoqualmie inspired piece was no disappointment. We love the variety and texture throughout the bouquet. We also love that Phuong mimicked the feel of the bouquet in a ground installation along the rocks.
The soft blue Nightingale dress from EMILY RIGGS was an obvious choice for winter inspiration at Snoqualmie Falls; the skirt is a combination of structure and flow that is a flattering silhouette while showing off the wind in the movement, the separate top has a plunging neckline with the most beautiful lace and detailing around all of the edges. The neckline of the dress and knowing that we wanted to show off as much of the lace as possible led Erica of HEY LOVELY to opt for a loose, off-the-shoulder hair style. As the wind picked up, we let down the up-do to show the movement around the falls. In true Hey Lovely style, Erica opted for a natural make-up style that fit in with the adventurous location we were photographing."
