Interview

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… on a walk or a hike exploring our gorgeous home of New England with my husband, Benny and our Aussie pup, Honey.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… biking over 800 miles through the mountains of Patagonia in Chile and Argentina. It was incredibly difficult but one of the best experiences of my life.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… Israel. My mother is Jewish however I was raised Catholic like my father. Although I would be accepted by the Jewish community, I don’t identify as such. I’ve always wanted to reconnect with that part of my heritage and learn more of what it truly means to belong to such an ancient culture.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… I am constantly in awe of the natural world! I love all of her colours, her movement, her surprises. Flowers are such a wonderful expression of the nature surrounding us all and I feel incredibly fortunate that I can immerse myself in this medium every day!

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE/DO… I think I’d make a great lawyer. I love to prove my point. I could also be in performing arts. I’ve been a contemporary dancer most of my life and would have loved to pursue that career path. I miss the stage and the way the audience disappears into the glare of the lights.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE… to really sit down and evaluate your priorities and then hire your vendors based off that list. I always ask this question during the inquiry process and 9 out of 10 couples say “they want everyone to have a good time” or “they want to get everyone together to celebrate their love”. While true, these priorities are inevitable! At a wedding, everyone’s getting together and having a good time no matter what! I think couples need to take an unbiased look at their life, their style, their habits/hobbies, their personalities and then prioritise from there. Are you someone who loves deadlines and checking boxes, then you should hire a planner. Are you someone who loves design and decor? Do you love to party and go to social events? Are you religious or spiritual? Do you love going out to eat? Share these priorities with your vendors! Through the inquiry process you will find vendors who match your ideals. Based on their knowledge, they will provide consultation on the best approach to execute this vision!

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… the community here in Portland, Maine is like no other. They’re encouraging, supportive and excited to have local business! Most make the bulk of their living during the warmer months when people summer or vacation here. It’s an amazing destination state with so much to do in the city but also in nature!

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… Spain! I’ve spent a few summers there during my childhood and always thought I would move there some day.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? For the last few years it has been Pride and Prejudice (2005) with Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… Too many! Benny and I love to cook and are always trying to create meals that rival the ones we can get going out to eat. Our favourite blog to cook from right now is Half Baked Harvest.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… A tuxedo cat, Nala, an Aussie pup, Honey and Timmy, Captain of the Seven Seas, a 3 inch mapping turtle!
