I’m Danielle. My mission statement? To live and lead a life full of joy. I strive to experience joy and spread joy each and every single day.

Whether it's capturing incredible love stories for couples who appreciate timeless film images, obsessing over those precious newborn cheeks, or taking crazy road trips to beautiful places with massive cotton candy coloured tulle dresses packed into the back of my car--I'm always finding joy and looking for that dreamy light!

My love for photography developed slowly. Initially I was captivated because, through my lens, I was able to preserve some of my whirlwind adventures across the globe—from the California coast to the twinkling Parisian skyline atop the Arc de Triomphe. Eventually, my love of photography grew into something more. Capturing images has become second nature to me and I find myself searching for the human connection in every photograph I take.

I’m a Virginia based wedding photographer serving couples throughout Virginia, East Tennessee, and North Carolina. Although the East Coast is home, I love to shoot weddings all over the world. I believe in providing an unforgettable wedding photography experience for each of my couples, in addition to capturing classic, luminous, editorial images that have you falling in love all over again. Though my work, I focus on the simple and meaningful while manipulating light to capture the magic of each moment. My goal is to build a legacy through beautiful art that will provide meaning for generations to come.

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… I love to spend my Sundays with my little family cozied up in our house or working on our small farm together. Stepping away from social media and the chaos of owning a small business for one day a week is wonderful! If I’m truly lucky, I’ll even squeeze in some time to cuddle up with a book before bed!

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… I’ve taken so many marvellous trips in my life, but I always think fondly of our time spent in Southern Italy. My husband and I journeyed down to the Amalfi Coast where we visited the breathtaking city of Sorrento and took a ferry out to the island of Capri. I have never seen so many lemon trees in my life!

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS…

Since the moment I first set my eyes upon England as a seventeen year old, I have been deeply and irrevocably in love. There’s just something so magical about the entire country and the charming people who inhabit it. I always love to explore other countries, but nothing sets my soul on fire quite like England.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… I absolutely love that my job does not feel like a job at all. I worked as a nurse for several years before I went all in with photography and it has been the best transition of my entire life. It’s not that owning a small business isn’t hard, but I wake up every single day so passionate about what I do and motivated to grow both creatively and professionally.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE… If I hadn’t found photography, I would absolutely still be working as a nurse. It’s in my nature to help other individuals and seek out human connection, which was why I initially chose nursing as my career path. Whether it’s helping others see the beauty in themselves through photographs or working to comfort critically ill patients, I do truly wish to spend my life helping others.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE…the most valuable piece of advice I could give a newly engaged couple is to remember that your marriage will long outlast your wedding day. It’s so important, when things get overwhelming and stressful, to take a step back and spend time together. Also, always do the cake tasting.

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… if you’ve never had the chance to visit the Blue Ridge Mountains, you absolutely should! I’ve been nestled in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia for a good majority of my life and I still feel as if the wind is knocked out of me when I see the mountains up close. There is something so wonderful about living in the country and getting to live a slower pace of life when you want to.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… although the world is such a large place and there is truly no right answer, I would without a doubt choose to live in London, England. I have long set my sights on a small loft in Notting Hill or near the Borough Market, but I would be completely content living in a cottage near the Cotswolds as well! I dream of being able to host family and friends in my English home and photography clients from around the world.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? I wish I had a deep or impactful movie at the top of my list, but honestly I could watch Love, Rosie on repeat. Before I was charmed by that British Rom-Com, it was Pride & Prejudice (the Kiera Knightly version). Sometimes for a little razzle dazzle I’ll pop on the 2011 edition of Jane Eyre!

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… when my husband and I went on our honeymoon some time ago, we unintentionally started a tradition. As we were strolling the streets of London together we stumbled upon a little shop that served up some of the most incredible lobster rolls around. We loved them so much we actually had two each! Since that day, we’ve made it our mission to always find a lobster roll joint when we go on vacation together. We’ve tried them in eight cities now!

THE PETS I OWN ARE… as soon as my husband and I moved in together nearly nine years ago we adopted our first dog, Winnie. She was the Benjamin Button of Chihuahuas, but we loved her dearly. We quickly took in Ernie the adorable mutt, then Ollie the hyperactive Yorkie mix, and (several years later) Zoey the Shih Tzu. After my husband lost a bet, we adopted our cat Lola. The largest addition to our brood has been our three Babydoll Sheep, whom we took in last spring during quarantine. They have bonded with our toddler and have the biggest personalities!
