Manda Weaver

I'm Manda - a fine art film wedding photographer residing on the Eastern shore of Maryland.

I live in an historic home with my three adventurous men, along with our sweet pups, #EllanorTheBoston and #GraysontheBoston. I began my adult life singing and acting on stage, then spent some years teaching music and theatre. I then transitioned to being in the Creative Arts field and started shooting for marketing purposes. I began photographing Weddings in 2009 and transitioned to being a full time Fine Art Wedding photographer in 2013.

I am drawn to the beauty of water and old world architecture, and will always choose to make it a backdrop for a love story whenever possible. I am relentlessly inspired by the work of Impressionist painters such as Manet, Monet, Cassatt. I often think of Degas' dancers when I photograph brides.

I believe we have a choice each and every day to ground ourselves in truth, uncover the beauty around us, and live an adventurous story worth telling.

Interview

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… walking the streets of Paris with my husband on our 15th Wedding Anniversary.

THE COUNTRIES I MOST WANT TO VISIT ARE… Greece, Italy, Ireland, Portugal.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… holding captive the unfolding moments in each couple’s journey as a visual narrator. Creating film imagery that speaks profoundly of who my couples are, and who they hope to be as they adventure into their ever after.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE… teaching voice lessons and directing musical theatre productions.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE pour into your relationship… even in the midst of the wedding planning. Schedule time to date each other before and after your wedding day. Your romance will thrive if you prioritise quality time together. Pro Tip - create a shared calendar and block off weekly/monthly date days.

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… from here I can go anywhere. I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland near Washington DC. In minutes I can be at countless waterfronts, amazing cities, or an airport that can take me around the globe.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? An Affair to Remember with Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… Boeuf Bourguignon at a little cafe near the Louvre in Paris.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… Ellanor Rose (a red Boston Terrier) and Grayson Radagast (a blue Boston Terrier).
