Interview

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… taking a day trip with my husband and baby girl, I love to share these experiences and see the wonder on her face when we visit a new place. But since having our little girl, sometimes there is just nothing better than all being home together and enjoying our garden on a warm Sunday afternoon.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… sitting above the rice terraces in Bali was a real highlight. There are so many little great memories though; wandering the cobbled streets of the Greek islands, scootering through Shanghai, swimming above the bay in Singapore, Aperitivo in Rome. New York! it seems like I’ve been there a 100 times by now but the city still manages to blow me away every single time. I love everything about it and I can never get enough of that city.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… Japan; Tokyo & Kyoto would be a dream. Australia is a close second.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… the opportunity to work in such an inspiring and talented industry. Working with others creatively, both planners and our couples, that is where the magic of what we create really happens. It’s also really fun to be challenged and getting to think outside the box to create something truly special for our clients.

They say if you do what you love, you never work a day in your life. In so many ways, this definitely feels true. I’m creating in my studio or somewhere amazing styling for an editorial and get to call it work, I definitely have to pinch myself. For me, having the flexibility to work outside of regular hours and then go play in the pool with my toddler on a Monday makes it a dream.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE… I graduated from a degree in Criminology & postgrad in Law so in another life I would probably continue on the path of being a lawyer. I also dream of opening an animal rescue in Indonesia or Southern Europe when I retire.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE…. enjoy and soak in every minute of this time, even those parts that may feel stressful, just be present and revel in the joy and love you’re surrounded in, it is all 100% worth it. Be as true to yourselves as possible and let that shine through in your wedding design. You only have one life so go after what you want together, take chances and make the most out of it!

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… living just outside of Washington D.C. is an opportunity to be a part of a truly global community, the city has a unique energy that I just loved from day one and the Virginia mountains are on our doorstep. But I am forever missing my home in England.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… Paris. My husband and I met and later got engaged there so it holds a very special place and time in our hearts.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? I’m not much of a movie girl, much to my movie buff husbands dismay. But I will watch Friends for the hundred millionth time on repeat any day of the week.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… our two rescue cats Harpo & Aspen, we got them right after we got married so they were our first babies. We fostered puppies with an incredible organisation that pulls from high kill shelters and poor conditions in the South and eventually foster failed our red hound puppy Roo.
