Under the Veil

We are a husband and wife team of fine art film photographer and videographer based in Ireland.

We describe our style as refined with a touch of fine art and fashion. Having studied art, I developed in my photography a love for paint like photographs, our love for movement and beautiful light emulates brush strokes to create timeless wedding portraits to be cherished for generations.

As artists, we appreciate the elements that make for beautiful imagery and video; light, location, composition, texture, colour and most importantly emotion. In order to craft an emotive and heartfelt story, we feel that these elements must be guided and shaped from start to finish.

With a relaxed approach, we balance, the beauty of composed direction whilst gently nurturing natural and honest emotion, eternalising each couple’s story through beautiful imagery and videos that are both heartfelt and evocative.

Film photography is my passion, in the rapid pace world the we live today, slowing down and being intentional about each image and video created is what makes us happy. The lightness, warmth and softness of film together with that unmistakable grain of medium format is what makes for timeless photographs that will transport you right to that moment in time and take your breath away every time.

Although Ireland has been our home for over 15 years, we love travelling and creating beautiful wedding images and videos all over the globe. Weddings have taken us to most beautiful places all over the world, Including Zurich, Lake Como, Brasilia, Madrid, Cabo and many more.

Our aim is to create beautiful and meaningful photographs and videos that you can look back on and fall in love with again and again

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… depending on the time of year it can be soaking up the sun in a nearby beach in Conemara, visit one of Ireland’s many castle’s and admiring their gardens, renting an airbnb by the lake to watch the sun turn the trees golden and watch the leaves fall or visiting as many different Christmas markets as possible.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… on our way back from Brazil when we had a lay over in Miami and our flight got delayed 10 hours. We simply took our cabin bags and headed to south beach. We dragged our luggage through the sand and had the best swim of outlives in our airport outfits, then dried in the sun and arrived in Ireland with salty hair and sandy pockets.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… such a hard question, there are so many. But I think I have to say (not a country) but I’d love to visit Antartica.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… how each couple and wedding is so different to the previous one and we get to enjoy one of the best times int heir lives together with their family and friends and also hoe we have the pleasure of creating something that they’ll gang on their walls and live their lives and growing old all while that image of that perfect day hangs there.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE/DO… an action movie actress or a 007.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE… to enjoy all the little things because they are the big things. Find little projects to do together so when you see them at your wedding, you can say “we did this” and that’s awesome.

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… there’s no green quite like it anywhere else..

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… Switzerland, there’s beauty everywhere and you get to see explore a different Switzerland with each season.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? Lion King is my favourite movie of all time and I still remember the first time seeing it, so many years ago, when that beginning sound starts and Simba is introduced to the kingdom and the animals go wild in reverence, it gives me goosebumps.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… eating gnocchi in Milan with my husband and cousin in this really fancy restaurant. The weather, the music and the wine were all perfect. It was a moment in time where everything aligned. The gnocchi was really good too.

THE PETS I OWN ARE…  Ginger and Koko are the best bunnies in the entire world (I checked).
