Aude Lucas

France Photographer

As an Asian French, my life has always been twofold. I grew up navigating through various cultures. Even my professional life is complex: recently, I’ve put aside more than 10 years in the academic field to embrace wedding photography as a full-time job.

Somehow, this duplexity also impregnates my photographic work, that is filled with emotions but also tends to an elegant editorial flair.

My images reflect both the craziness of an emotional wedding day and the grandeur of this one-in-a-lifetime event. Always paying attention to details, I guide the bride and groom into the best poses, to get shots that are authentic, artistic, poetically elegant, sometimes romantic, and sometimes more fashion.

One thing remains constant, though: in all aspects of my life, I am a thorough person. As a wedding photographer, I am careful to my clients’ souls, hopes, and personalities. When shooting a wedding, nothing matters more to me than creating the best pictures ever for the bride and groom, images that will reflect them as individuals, for them to have the souvenirs they’ve always dreamt of their wedding.

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… shooting wedding details on “flatlay” compositions.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… Singapore, my first time in Asia.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… the United States of America, because thanks to Hollywood I feel familiar with its culture, but never had the chance to really visit the country.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… seeing people happy.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE/DO… an academic in Chinese classical literature -that I’ve been for many years and stopped being to be a full-time photographer.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE… Just enjoy the moment!

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… I’ve got space!

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… Paris, Kyoto, Taipei, Bangkok, London, all at the same time within the year!

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? Can’t say I have one favourite movie only, but I’m a huge fan of movies about time travels.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… in French Chateau de Nieul, first time ever I had to decline cheese because I was so full with an exquisite cuisine.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… Nao and Nami, two adorable cats, one black with a white T on her chest and an unabashed nature, and the other one a tabby beauty with shy and ritualist manners.
