Interview

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… I spend most free time with my husband and kids these days. If I have time to myself, I enjoy thrift shopping, especially in other towns or stores that are new to me.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… traveling with my brother and grandmother to Costa Rica. Watching her enthralled by toucans and monkeys was one of the highlights of my life. The trip was the perfect combination of adventurous and luxurious.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… Greece! It's long been on my list, and I think my social algorithm is fully aware and tempting me.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… people and their stories. No wedding day or couple is the same, and I learn so much about your families, background, priorities, and traditions. Sometimes it's surface level—funny stories from high school, or just watching you guys dancing while your personalities shine through. Some couples share deeply personal details of their lives throughout the wedding process, and I'm honored to witness these stories and get to know you all.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE… I've always worked in marketing and love the combination of strategy and creative skills it requires. Marketing analytics practices is a special interest of mine and something I've done both professionally and freelance.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE… the marriage will be far better than the wedding day. Keep dating, don't make every conversation about wedding planning, and carve out protected space for each other through this engagement process.

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… It's a tiny town full of sweet people. We can walk to my son's school, library, the park, and have great neighbours. The historic downtown area has such unique shops and restaurants, no chains or franchises in sights. We're a hidden gem for sure.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… I have no desire to move, but I would love to live somewhere near an ocean or sea one day. I love the smell of salty air. If I didn't love being so close to family where we are, I'd likely land in the Mediterranean somewhere.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? I've never been much of a movie person. But, I could watch Gilmore Girls forever on repeat. If I'm editing a wedding, it's probably playing in the background.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… While traveling in Bolivia, my mom and I treated the entire orphanage we were staying with to a meal at a restaurant. There were nearly 30 of us in total including the girls and the staff. We piled into four cabs to get there, stacked on each other's laps. We had an incredible chicken and rice dish, and the total at the end of it all was about $100 USD. I was shocked at how far our money went there! While the meal itself was delicious, what's most memorable is getting to and from the restaurant with that many people, and all the giggling in the cab.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… We have four dogs: Fox, Luna, Murray, and Rhino; two cats: Catt Damon and Peter; and a fish: Jelly. It's a zoo around here!
