After graduating from the study of English Literature and French Culture, New York photographer LARA LAM, embarked upon a career in photography. Influenced by European old world charm, Lara developed her distinct aesthetic vision with dramatic romanticism and emotive captivation and it's evident in every wedding she captures. Deeply inspired by old paintings, she creates the unique visual pieces that redefine traditional beauty and sentimental emotion at a new perspective. We're delighted to have her elegant work in our MAGNOLIA ROUGE VENDOR GUIDE.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER? I have many visions in my mind that I am urging to express - photography became a way of my expression.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR PATH TO GET THERE: My younger brother Laurent taught me how to use a camera before I left home to study in France. I started with landscape documentary, emerging into experimental and conceptual and eventually I found my true passion in portrait. I have been focusing in portrait for quite some time now.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE? Emotion evoking, classic, dramatic romanticism. My inspirations come from old master paintings, literature, dance and music. European style - especially historical French style, has been a major influence in my work.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WEDDINGS? The genuine love between people. Love between couples, between family and people who are important in their life. These connections orchestrated a symphony of beautiful emotions in weddings - capturing these moments fascinated me the most in every wedding.

SHARE YOUR FAVOURITE IMAGE WITH US AND TELL US WHY: This image below was taken in a studio with black walls with a dancer. I was lucky to see her indescribably powerful performance. This image echoes with something I always ask myself - "If life is a stage and you have one chance to perform - would you take that chance and be the best of who you can be?"

CAN YOU RECALL YOUR FAVOURITE WEDDING EXPERIENCE? It must be a wedding at The Frick Collection. The Frick itself is a gorgeous mansion on Fifth Avenue. It was a black tie reception, guests enjoying the art gallery and there were jazz bands and great food in the garden. That wedding feels like it was happening in 1915 with so much fun and indescribable elegance.

ASIDE FROM FAMILY & FRIENDS, THREE THINGS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT: Art, Consciousness, Soul Connection

WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU ON A SUNDAY MORNING? At a breakfast table.

HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF? I would explore and wander without a destination.

We're delighted to have New York Wedding Photographer LARA LAM in the Magnolia Rouge Vendor Guide. Be sure to check-out more of Lara Lam's wedding photography work here.
