She tells us, "Here in the Pacific Northwest the final weeks of summer felt more like the first moments of autumn, and the gloom of the ocean on a grey day has always made my heart flutter. When the weather changes & the days become cooler, my imagination always wanders to the classics like Jane Eyre, which is beautiful & romantic in a slightly darker way. This inspired me to do a paired down, romantic shoot where the focus was completely on the model, the dress, and the scenery. I love that the heroine of Jane Eyre is simple, but has a mystery to her which the reader (and Edward Rochester) finds captivating. I wanted that feeling of simplicity & mystery to come across within these portraits. You want to know her story, where she's going, and who she loves. I love the inspiration that can be drawn from those unanswered questions."
