We are always here for a moody, cloudy shoot so naturally we are loving this Mount Tamalpais engagement shoot by California wedding photographer TIFFANY LONGEWAY. Laura tells us more about their story:
"I was living my best single life, my roomie and I always out and about. I would often wait go to the restaurant where she worked to wait for her shift to end so we could go out to a bar and dance afterward. As I would wait there, Aaron often served me drinks or snacks. Funnily, my roommate and I thought we should set him up with another friend but neither of them were interested. We all ended up hanging out (I tagged along on a couple of employee outings since I was over there so often) and I decided I might actually like Aaron for myself! We started casually dating - I knew I wanted to move away so I wasn't looking for anything serious--and then we I moved we decided to actually start seriously dating. When Aaron finished school, we moved in together and we made it through the pandemic better than ever so the next step seemed a no-brainer!
When it came to the proposal I was TOTALLY surprised. I knew he'd propose someday, as we'd gone ring shopping and actually picked out the diamond I wanted together. To be honest, I thought he'd propose several months later than he did because we had a trip planned to Europe (May-June 2022), and doesn't Italy scream proposal? We were in Tucson, AZ in October 2021 for one of his best friend's weddings (which was a blast) and we had planned to do a pretty hike the next day. That morning after, Aaron was being weird, carrying around his backpack and acting weird about stuff getting stolen from the car we were loading up post-wedding. Should have been a clue, but as you know, I was anticipating a much later date for anything like that. We rented a car and had a nice drive about 30 minutes away. When we got the the check-in station for the national park, the attendant handed us a map and told us that unfortunately access to the waterfall we planned to hike was closed because a naked man was setting fires up at the top of the trail and the police/fire/rescue were trying to stop and catch him. While Aaron silently panicked, I thought he might try to back out due to a hangover or something so I quickly found us an alternate route that passed by some water. It turned out to be a perfect hike (and much shorter, which was nice in the almost-100-degree heat). We found a tiny lagoon area and Aaron set up the tripod he'd been using as a selfie stick throughout the hike. He pretended to take a photo of us but secretly had it on "video" and pressed play. He proposed right there and I was totally shocked! Of course, I said yes. We can show you the video, it's a sweet thing he was able to capture and I love it."
