Amy Huang

San Diego Photographer

Amy grew up with a camera in her hand. She was taking photos from a young age and constantly talking to her father about photo crops and camera angles. Because of her firm technical foundation, Amy can freely create photos beyond the norm - discovering and capturing each of her clients on a much deeper level - bonafide images and memories created only because of their deep trust in her.

Amy's approach is simply this: Understanding the tightrope walk between worlds, Amy utilises her uncanny ability to read people, her approachability and authentically warm & caring heart to serve clients who desire to showcase the beauty behind their rich cultural traditions and heritage - while also embracing the culture and world they were brought up in.

Amy aims to always create empowering vivid fine art photos - images documenting all the minute details as well as capturing the deep emotions in all the sweet moments in life - heirloom memories that you can't wait to pass onto future generations to come.

Interview

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… with my family. Relaxing at home or somewhere away from the computer!

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… visiting Salzberg, Austria - because I grew up on the Sound of Music! But Europe in general. Romania is definitely one of my favourites - the kindest people!

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… Japan.. and that dream is about to come true!

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… to create heirloom memories for other people & drawing out the natural beauty in everyone.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE/DO… I haven’t thought about it. But I’d just be a mom and create more memories with my family.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE…life will never be perfect, but as long as you brush your knees off and get up again - things will be alright.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… In Europe - being surrounded by people from every country - where you cross the border and people speak another language. You realise just how small you really are when you’re not in the US.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? It used to be Up Close and Personal. Now, I don’t quite know. There are a few movies that I could watch again and again. I truly love Encanto & Hamilton.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… probably one in Las Vegas - had the most delicious Fois Gras - and another would be a delicious ramekin of wild mushrooms from a French restaurant. Maybe eating bear meat in Romania could be one of it! I just love food overall! Ethiopian, Japanese, Italian are my utmost favourites!

THE PETS I OWN ARE… my sons.. just kidding. We don’t have pets.
