You have classic tastes with a touch of playfulness, and want to look effortlessly chic in your wedding photos, but you also want to be present and soak up every moment of your wedding day.

This is where I come in.

I learned how to use film with my stepdad's only Canon AE-1, and fell in love with how timeless film is. He is no longer here, but that camera and the art I create will remain a way for us to stay connected. I thrive finding the balance of classic portraiture and whimsical fun, capturing your story in an elegant way, and also allowing you to be in the moment. I hope you take away from our experience together the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… curled up with some coffee reading a book and hanging out with my husband and my cat. Then go outside for a walk or play frisbee or something for some fresh air, followed by happy hour promptly at 5!

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… I was 19 and traveling as a young midshipman in the Navy, leaving from our ship that had pulled into port in Thailand. I had the wrong airline information for my return flight. I was flying out of a small airport in Phuket, but my flight had already left, so my airline was completely closed. Lights out. The entire airport was closing soon. The cab that dropped me off had left. No one at the help desk spoke any English, and I wasn’t a super responsible traveler at 19 so I didn’t have a map back to my ship, anyone’s phone number, or even cell service for that matter (just the wifi from the Burger King). The other midshipman had gone through security to their flights, and I didn’t trust any of the cab drivers traveling alone as a 19 year old. I hung out, in tears, with the women at baggage claim. I didn’t speak any Thai, they didn’t speak any English, but somehow they understood what I needed. They found me a reputable cab and I was able to find the port my ship was in. It was the scariest evening of my life! I travel much more responsibly now.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… New Zealand! I’m a huge fan of water hitting rocks and cliffs. That combined with the mountains… I just want to see it with my own eyes.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… the people I meet! I work with some incredible couples, and the vendors I’ve met in the wedding industry have been so inspiring and have made for some of the most enriching friendships.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE/DO… I love the business side of photography, so I would probably get an MBA and work in consulting somewhere.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE… the wedding is just the beginning! It’s so much planning leading up to it, but the time it rolls around, just soak up every moment! And the best is yet to come :)

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… it’s a ten minute drive to the Lincoln Memorial in DC! Can’t beat that.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… a cottage in Big Sur, California overlooking the water. It’s so beautiful up there!

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? When Harry Met Sally.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… at Three Blacksmiths in Sperryville, VA. The most amazing six course meal with wine pairings in a tiny one street town in Virginia.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… my cat, Charlie! We found her in a park in Richmond, Virginia in the winter and rescued her. We love her so much!
