At a young age San Diego wedding photographer CAMILA MARGOTTA realised the importance of photography and moreover, how a photographer can play such a big role in telling someones story. "With photography, I've found a way to bottle the emotions and love I don't have words for—I can say everything I want to through the photos I take.
Whenever I pick up my camera, I do so with the intention of helping clients tell the story of their family—and love—through elevated, considered, and heartfelt images. It would be my honour to help you do the same." Read on to learn more about her.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER? All my life, I’ve grown up looking through photos. After immigrating to the United States as a child, photographs were one of the few tangible ways I felt connected to family that remained back home in Brazil. I love how each photo tells a story, and I've always sought to tell the story of my family—and our life together—through images. That's how I realised how important photography is, and moreover, how a photographer can play such a big role in telling your story. With photography, I've found a way to bottle the emotions and love I don't have words for—I can say everything I want to through the photos I take.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR PATH TO GET THERE. I decided to become a professional photographer after I had my two kids and needed an outlet. So what started out as an outlet for me to find myself has turned into an intense passion of mine. The more time I spend in this business photographing amazing clients the more my love for photography grows. I am always eager to learn and you will most likely find me at workshops or taking more classes whenever possible.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE? Classic, romantic, timeless.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WEDDINGS? I love that I get to create tangible memories for my clients, that they walk away with photographs that tells their wedding day story so that they can relive it whenever they look back on them. I love that I can be the calming presence for my couples on their wedding day while capturing their day as it unfolds.

SHARE YOUR FAVOURITE IMAGE WITH US AND TELL US WHY. This is my favourite image because it showcases the beautiful La Jolla Beach and the way the light hits them beautifully.

CAN YOU RECALL YOUR FAVOURITE WEDDING EXPERIENCE? My favourite wedding experience was when I got to photograph a wedding for a couple where they had to keep on rescheduling their wedding because while planning the bride got diagnosed with cancer. After five years of planning and canceling they were finally able to have their wedding celebration and they got to celebrate life and health.

ASIDE FROM FAMILY & FRIENDS, THREE THINGS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT? Chocolate, books and my acupuncturist.

WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU ON A SUNDAY MORNING? At home with my family enjoying coffee with a good book or taking a stroll on the beach.

HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF? I would be out and about with my family, either at the beach or somewhere around San Diego. We’d get lunch while we are out and I get to come back home and relax and read a book.
